A simple yet elegant appetizer featuring creamy whipped feta, crispy toasted baguette slices, and a sweet-spicy hot honey drizzle.
Ingredients::
For the Whipped Feta
8 oz (225 g) feta cheese, crumbled
4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened
2 tbsp Greek yogurt
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp lemon juice
For the Hot Honey
¼ cup honey
½ tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
1 tsp apple cider vinegar
For the Crostini
1 French baguette, sliced into ½-inch rounds
2 tbsp olive oil
Optional Garnishes
Fresh thyme leaves
Chopped pistachios
Lemon zest
Fresh cracked black pepper
Instructions::
1. Make the Hot Honey
In a small saucepan, warm the honey over low heat.
Stir in red pepper flakes and apple cider vinegar.
Simmer for 1–2 minutes, then remove from heat.
Let cool slightly while preparing the crostini.
2. Prepare the Crostini
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet.
Brush both sides lightly with olive oil.
Bake for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crisp.
3. Whip the Feta
Add feta, cream cheese, Greek yogurt, olive oil, and lemon juice to a food processor.
Blend until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.
4. Assemble
Spread a generous layer of whipped feta onto each crostini.
Drizzle with warm hot honey.
Garnish with thyme, pistachios, lemon zest, or black pepper if desired.
Serving
Serve immediately while the crostini are crisp. Makes 10–12 servings as an appetizer.
