Tomato Garlic Salad Recipe
Ingredients:
- 4-5 ripe tomatoes, chopped
- 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small red onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped (or use parsley if you prefer)
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar (or balsamic vinegar)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: 1/4 cup crumbled feta or goat cheese
Instructions:
- Prepare the Ingredients:
- Chop the tomatoes and place them in a large bowl.
- Mince the garlic and finely chop the red onion.
- Chop the fresh basil leaves.
- Mix the Dressing:
- In a small bowl, combine the olive oil and red wine vinegar. Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Combine Everything:
- Add the minced garlic, chopped red onion, and basil to the tomatoes.
- Pour the dressing over the tomato mixture and toss everything gently to combine.
- Add Optional Ingredients:
- If using, sprinkle crumbled feta or goat cheese on top of the salad.
- Chill and Serve:
- Let the salad sit for about 15 minutes to let the flavors meld together. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
