Tomato Garlic Salad Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4-5 ripe tomatoes, chopped
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped (or use parsley if you prefer)
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar (or balsamic vinegar)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: 1/4 cup crumbled feta or goat cheese

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:
    • Chop the tomatoes and place them in a large bowl.
    • Mince the garlic and finely chop the red onion.
    • Chop the fresh basil leaves.
  2. Mix the Dressing:
    • In a small bowl, combine the olive oil and red wine vinegar. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Combine Everything:
    • Add the minced garlic, chopped red onion, and basil to the tomatoes.
    • Pour the dressing over the tomato mixture and toss everything gently to combine.
  4. Add Optional Ingredients:
    • If using, sprinkle crumbled feta or goat cheese on top of the salad.
  5. Chill and Serve:
    • Let the salad sit for about 15 minutes to let the flavors meld together. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
