Easiest Flourless Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (6 oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease an 8-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
  2. Melt Chocolate and Butter: In a heatproof bowl, combine the chocolate and butter. Melt them together over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method), stirring occasionally until smooth. Alternatively, you can melt them in the microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring in between.
  3. Mix Ingredients: Remove the bowl from heat and let it cool slightly. Stir in the sugar, salt, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  4. Add Eggs: Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the batter is smooth and glossy.
  5. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cake is set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs.
  6. Cool and Serve: Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar or cocoa powder before serving, if desired.
