Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls

For the Dough:

  • 1 package (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 3 1/2 – 4 cups all-purpose flour

For the Filling:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves

For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:-

1. Prepare the Dough:

  1. In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add pumpkin puree, sugar, melted butter, salt, and spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves). Mix well.
  3. Gradually add flour, 1 cup at a time, until a soft dough forms.
  4. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.

2. Make the Filling:

  1. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves for the filling.
  2. Punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface into a 16×21 inch rectangle.
  3. Spread softened butter over the dough, leaving a 1/4 inch border around the edges.
  4. Sprinkle the filling mixture evenly over the buttered dough.

3. Roll the Dough:

  1. Tightly roll up the dough starting from the long edge and pinch the seam to seal.
  2. Cut into 12-15 slices.

4. Arrange in Baking Pan:

  1. Place the rolls in a greased 9×13 inch baking pan. Cover with a clean towel and let them rise again until doubled in size, about 30-45 minutes.

5. Bake the Rolls:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Bake rolls in preheated oven until golden brown, about 20-25 minutes.

6. Make the Cream Cheese Frosting:

  1. In a medium bowl, beat together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Spread frosting over warm rolls before serving.
