Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). If using an air fryer, preheat it to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the Dough: Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to about ¼-inch thickness. Cut the dough into squares or rectangles, depending on the desired size of your pizza pockets.
  3. Add Fillings: Spread a tablespoon of pizza sauce on one half of each dough square, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle a generous amount of mozzarella cheese over the sauce. Add your desired toppings like pepperoni, sausage, and vegetables.
  4. Seal the Pockets: Fold the dough over the filling to form a pocket. Press the edges with a fork to seal them securely. If the dough isn’t sticking well, you can brush a little water along the edges before sealing.
  5. Egg Wash: Brush the tops of the pizza pockets with the beaten egg. This will give them a nice golden color when baked. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning if desired.
  6. Bake or Air Fry:
    • Oven: Place the pizza pockets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
    • Air Fryer: Place the pizza pockets in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, or until golden and cooked through.
  7. Cool and Serve: Allow the pizza pockets to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy with extra pizza sauce or your favorite dipping sauce!
