Home Made Keto Mini Pizza Bowls
Ingredients
For the Base:
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup almond flour
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Toppings:
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce (sugar-free)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Your choice of toppings (e.g., pepperoni, bell peppers, mushrooms, olives, cooked sausage, etc.)
- Fresh basil or oregano for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Make the Base:
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the shredded mozzarella cheese and almond flour. Microwave for about 30-45 seconds until the cheese is melted.
- Add the egg, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the melted cheese mixture. Mix until fully combined.
- Let it cool slightly, then knead the mixture with your hands until you have a dough-like consistency.
- Form the Bowls:
- Grease a muffin tin with cooking spray or oil.
- Divide the dough into 6 equal portions. Press each portion into the muffin tin, shaping them into bowls with a thickness of about 1/4 inch. Make sure to press it up the sides to create a well for the toppings.
- Pre-Bake the Bowls:
- Bake the cheese bowls in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden and firm.
- Add Toppings:
- Remove the mini pizza bowls from the oven. Spoon a little pizza sauce into each bowl, then sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
- Add your favorite toppings.
- Bake Again:
- Return the muffin tin to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve:
- Let the mini pizza bowls cool for a couple of minutes. Garnish with fresh basil or oregano, if desired. Serve warm.
Tips:
- You can make these in advance and freeze them before baking. Just bake from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the cooking time.
- Experiment with different cheeses or low-carb toppings to customize your mini pizza bowls!
