High-Protein Cheesecake Banana Bread

Moist banana bread with a creamy cheesecake ribbon through the middle. Tastes like dessert, but packed with protein.

Ingredients

Banana Bread Batter

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup or sweetener
  • 1 1/2 cups oat flour or all-purpose flour
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (about 30 g)
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

Cheesecake Filling

  • 8 oz (225 g) light cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tbsp sweetener or sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Optional Toppings

  • Chocolate chips
  • Crushed walnuts or pecans
  • Cinnamon sugar swirl

Instructions

  1. Prep
    Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    Line or grease a loaf pan.
  2. Make banana bread batter
    In one bowl mix bananas, eggs, yogurt, milk, vanilla, and sweetener.
    Stir in flour, protein powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt until just combined.
  3. Make cheesecake layer
    Beat cream cheese, yogurt, egg yolk, sweetener, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Layer
    Pour half the banana batter into the loaf pan.
    Spread cheesecake mixture over it.
    Top with remaining banana batter.
    Optional: swirl lightly with a knife.
  5. Bake
    Bake 45–55 minutes until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  6. Cool completely
    Let cool before slicing so the cheesecake layer sets properly.
