Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups milk (or water / almond milk)
  • 1 apple, grated or finely chopped
  • 1 small carrot, grated
  • 1–2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • Β½ teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • ΒΌ teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon butter or coconut oil (optional)

  1. In a saucepan, bring milk (or water) to a gentle boil.
  2. Add oats and a pinch of salt. Cook on medium heat for 3–4 minutes, stirring.
  3. Add grated apple and carrot. Stir well.

  5. Add cinnamon, nutmeg, butter, and sweetener (if using).
  6. Mix well and cook 1 more minute.
  7. Turn off heat and let it rest 2 minutes before serving.
