WW Chaffle Burger
Ingredients:
For the chaffles:
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (part-skim for lower points)
- 1 tablespoon almond flour or coconut flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- Non-stick cooking spray
For the burger:
- 4 oz lean ground turkey or lean ground beef
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Onion slices
- Pickles
- Mustard or sugar-free ketchup (optional)
- Other burger toppings of your choice
Instructions:
- Preheat your waffle maker according to its instructions.
- In a small bowl, beat the egg.
- Stir in the shredded mozzarella cheese, almond or coconut flour, and baking powder until well combined.
- Once the waffle maker is heated, lightly coat it with non-stick cooking spray.
- Pour half of the chaffle batter onto the waffle maker and close the lid. Cook for about 4-5 minutes or until the chaffle is golden brown and crispy. Repeat with the remaining batter.
- While the chaffles are cooking, season the ground turkey or beef with salt and pepper and form into patties.
- Cook the patties in a skillet over medium heat until they are cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side, depending on thickness.
- To assemble the chaffle burgers, place a cooked patty on one chaffle, then top with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mustard, or any other toppings you desire.
- Place another chaffle on top to create a burger “sandwich.”
- Serve and enjoy your Weight Watchers-friendly chaffle burger!
