WW Chaffle Burger

Ingredients:

For the chaffles:

  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (part-skim for lower points)
  • 1 tablespoon almond flour or coconut flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • Non-stick cooking spray

For the burger:

  • 4 oz lean ground turkey or lean ground beef
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Onion slices
  • Pickles
  • Mustard or sugar-free ketchup (optional)
  • Other burger toppings of your choice

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your waffle maker according to its instructions.
  2. In a small bowl, beat the egg.
  3. Stir in the shredded mozzarella cheese, almond or coconut flour, and baking powder until well combined.
  4. Once the waffle maker is heated, lightly coat it with non-stick cooking spray.
  5. Pour half of the chaffle batter onto the waffle maker and close the lid. Cook for about 4-5 minutes or until the chaffle is golden brown and crispy. Repeat with the remaining batter.
  6. While the chaffles are cooking, season the ground turkey or beef with salt and pepper and form into patties.
  7. Cook the patties in a skillet over medium heat until they are cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side, depending on thickness.
  8. To assemble the chaffle burgers, place a cooked patty on one chaffle, then top with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mustard, or any other toppings you desire.
  9. Place another chaffle on top to create a burger “sandwich.”
  10. Serve and enjoy your Weight Watchers-friendly chaffle burger!
