Vegan margarita pizza pie

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup vegan mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2-3 large tomatoes, sliced
  • Handful of fresh basil leaves, torn
  • Olive oil, for drizzling

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the tomato sauce, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.
  3. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness. Transfer the dough to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
  4. Spread the tomato sauce mixture over the pizza dough, leaving about 1/2 inch border around the edge.
  5. Sprinkle the vegan mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  6. Arrange the tomato slices on top of the cheese.
  7. Drizzle the pizza with a little bit of olive oil.
  8. Bake the pizza in the oven for 18-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Once the pizza is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
  10. Sprinkle the fresh torn basil leaves over the pizza.
  11. Cut the pizza into slices and serve hot.
