TURKEY SAUSAGE PATTIES

urkey sausage patties are delicious and healthy breakfast meat. Pair these with a few eggs and you’ve got a zero point breakfast.
It leaves you plenty of room to add some heart-healthy oats or whole wheat toast. You could even use these to put into Hawaiian rolls for a sweet and savory sausage breakfast sandwich. The kids will love it because it’s not spicy, but still very flavorful
INGREDIENTS
- 1 lb ground turkey *weighed raw 99% lean
- ½ tablespoon maple syrup
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 clove of garlic diced
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 teaspoon sage
- 1.5 teaspoon fennel seeds
- ½ teaspoon onion salt
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
INSTRUCTIONS
- If time allows, make the mixture the night before and let the patties sit in the fridge overnight so the spices can soak into the meat. It really enhances the flavor.
- In a bowl, mix together the turkey, maple syrup, and all spices. Mix it well then divide it into 6 – 3oz patties. Place them in a sealed container in the fridge. You can cook them right away if needed. The spices really come out more when left overnight in the fridge.
- Heat a large frying pan over medium-high heat and coat with some nonstick cooking spray.
- Cook 3 patties at a time unless you have a large pan and can cook all without them touching. Cook for 3-4 minutes then flip and repeat until the patties are cooked all the way through. Time may vary depending on how thin or thick you make the patties.
- Alternatively, you can air fry these patties by placing a liner in the basket and cooking at 375 for 8-12 minutes.
- Serve warm, and enjoy!
