Stuffed Cabbages Rolls
Ingredients
- 1 large cabbage (green works best)
- 500g ground beef (or mix with chicken/lamb)
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 small onion (finely chopped)
- 2β3 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 egg
- 2 cups tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes
- 1β2 tbsp tomato paste
- Salt, black pepper, paprika (to taste)
- 1β2 tbsp oil
- Fresh herbs (parsley or dill, optional)
π³ Instructions
1. Prepare the cabbage
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
- Carefully remove whole cabbage leaves by blanching the head for a few minutes until soft.
- Trim thick stems so leaves roll easily.
2. Make the filling
- In a bowl, mix ground meat, cooked rice, onion, garlic, egg, salt, pepper, and paprika.
3. Roll them up
- Place a portion of filling on each cabbage leaf.
- Fold sides inward and roll tightly like a wrap.
4. Prepare the sauce
- Heat oil in a pot, add tomato sauce and tomato paste, season lightly.
5. Cook
- Arrange rolls seam-side down in the pot.
- Pour sauce over them, cover, and simmer on low heat for 40β60 minutes.

They taste even better the next day as flavors deepen.
Serve hot with yogurt or sour cream.
Pair with crusty bread or mashed potatoes.
