Ingredients
For the Cauliflower
1 large head cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup water
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon sesame oil (optional)
For the Sticky Sesame Sauce
⅓ cup soy sauce
¼ cup honey or maple syrup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons water
Garnish
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
2 green onions, thinly sliced
Instructions
1. Prepare the Cauliflower
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, water, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until smooth.
Toss cauliflower florets in the batter until evenly coated.
Arrange on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
Bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
2. Make the Sticky Sesame Sauce
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger.
Bring to a gentle simmer.
Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl to make a slurry.
Stir the slurry into the sauce and cook for 2–3 minutes until thick and glossy.
3. Coat the Cauliflower
Transfer baked cauliflower to a large bowl.
Pour the sticky sesame sauce over the cauliflower.
Toss gently until all pieces are coated.
4. Finish
Return the coated cauliflower to the baking sheet.
Bake for another 5–7 minutes to caramelize the sauce.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
