Pizza Toasts

Ingredients

For the quick pizza sauce:

  • 4 tablespoons of passata
  • 1 tablespoon of tomato paste
  • ½ teaspoon of garlic powder
  • pinch of Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon of granulated sweetener

For the pizza toast:

  • 2 slices (2oz/60) of whole wheat bread
  • 50g/2oz of mozzarella cheese, grated or sliced
  • 1 large vine tomato, sliced thinly
  • half a small red onion, sliced
  • 2 slices of lean ham, sliced up
  • salt and black pepper
  • splash of balsamic vinegar
  • Spray oil
  • freshly chopped Italian parsley or basil

Instructions

  1. Combine the ingredients for the pizza sauce in a bowl
  2. Preheat oven to 180c fan, 200c, 400f, gas mark 6
  3. Lightly toast the bread.
  4. Spray baking tray with low calorie spray and add the lightly toast bread
  5. Spread with the pizza sauce
  6. Add some slithers or red onion and sliced up ham.
  7. Top with the mozzarella
  8. Add tomato slices to the top. drizzle with a little bit of balsamic vinegar, season with salt and black pepper.
  9. Bake in the oven for approx 10-15 minutes until cheese has melted and toast is crisp and golden.
  10. Sprinkle with some fresh chopped herbs
  11. Serve with your choice of sides.
  12. Enjoy!
