Ingredients
- Shea butter: ½ cup
- Coconut oil: 2 tablespoons
- Castor oil: 1 tablespoon
- Olive oil: 1 tablespoon
- Herbs/Spices (for infusion): Rosemary, mustard seeds, and cloves
- Rosemary-infused oil: 1 teaspoon (optional)
- Vitamin E oil: ½ teaspoon (optional) [1]
Procedure
- Prepare and Melt: Combine the shea butter, coconut oil, and other base oils in a heat-safe bowl or the top pot of a double boiler. Heat gently until fully melted.
- Infuse Herbs: Add the rosemary, mustard seeds, and cloves into the warm oil mixture and let them simmer or steep to release their beneficial properties.
- Strain: Pour the warm oil mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean bowl to remove the solid herb pieces, leaving a clear, infused liquid oil.
- Cool and Whip: Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then use an electric hand mixer to whip the oils and butter until the texture becomes light, fluffy, and creamy.
- Store: Transfer the finished whipped hair butter into a clean glass jar with a tight-fitting lid.
