How to make a homemade herbal hair growth butter

Ingredients

  • Shea butter: ½ cup
  • Coconut oil: 2 tablespoons
  • Castor oil: 1 tablespoon
  • Olive oil: 1 tablespoon
  • Herbs/Spices (for infusion): Rosemary, mustard seeds, and cloves
  • Rosemary-infused oil: 1 teaspoon (optional)
  • Vitamin E oil: ½ teaspoon (optional) [1]

Procedure

  1. Prepare and Melt: Combine the shea butter, coconut oil, and other base oils in a heat-safe bowl or the top pot of a double boiler. Heat gently until fully melted.
  2. Infuse Herbs: Add the rosemary, mustard seeds, and cloves into the warm oil mixture and let them simmer or steep to release their beneficial properties.
  3. Strain: Pour the warm oil mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean bowl to remove the solid herb pieces, leaving a clear, infused liquid oil.
  4. Cool and Whip: Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then use an electric hand mixer to whip the oils and butter until the texture becomes light, fluffy, and creamy.
  5. Store: Transfer the finished whipped hair butter into a clean glass jar with a tight-fitting lid.
