HOMEMADE GARLIC DINNER ROLLS
Ingredients:
For the Dough:
- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast (2 ¼ tsp)
- 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 large egg
For the Garlic Butter:
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
- 1 tsp salt

Instructions:
- Prepare the Dough:
- In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg to the dry ingredients. Mix until the dough comes together.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic. Alternatively, you can use a stand mixer with a dough hook attachment.
- First Rise:
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
- Shape the Rolls:
- Punch down the dough to release the air. Divide the dough into 12-15 equal pieces.
- Shape each piece into a ball and place them in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish or on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Cover the rolls with a damp cloth and let them rise for another 30 minutes, or until they have doubled in size.
- Prepare the Garlic Butter:
- While the rolls are rising, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley and salt.
- Bake the Rolls:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Brush the rolls with half of the garlic butter mixture.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown.
- Finish:
- Remove the rolls from the oven and immediately brush them with the remaining garlic butter.
- Let them cool slightly before serving.
