Home Made French Toast

Ingredients:

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk (or almond milk for a dairy-free option)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • A pinch of salt
  • 4 slices of bread (thick-cut, like challah or brioche for best results)
  • 1 tbsp butter or oil (for cooking)
  • Maple syrup, powdered sugar, or fresh berries for topping

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the egg mixture: In a shallow bowl or a wide dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until fully combined.
  2. Dip the bread: Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Once hot, melt a tablespoon of butter or oil. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, making sure it’s well-coated on both sides but not soaked.
  3. Cook the French Toast: Place the dipped bread slices on the skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and slightly crispy.
  4. Serve: Serve hot with your favorite toppings like maple syrup, powdered sugar, fresh berries, or whipped cream.
