Chicken Cordon Bleu Meatloaf
This meatloaf combines the flavors of classic Chicken Cordon Bleu—chicken, ham, and Swiss cheese—in an easy baked loaf.
Ingredients
For the Meatloaf
2 lbs (900 g) ground chicken
1 cup plain breadcrumbs
2 large eggs
½ cup milk
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
8 oz (225 g) deli ham, thinly sliced
8 oz (225 g) Swiss cheese, sliced
For the Dijon Cream Sauce (Optional)
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare the Oven
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Lightly grease a loaf pan or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Make the Meat Mixture
In a large bowl, combine:
Ground chicken
Breadcrumbs
Eggs
Milk
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Dried parsley
Salt
Pepper
Mix gently until just combined.
3. Assemble the Meatloaf
Place half of the chicken mixture on a parchment-lined surface.
Shape into a rectangle about 10 x 12 inches (25 x 30 cm).
Layer ham slices over the chicken, leaving a small border around the edges.
Layer Swiss cheese over the ham.
Carefully spread the remaining chicken mixture on top.
Seal the edges well so the cheese stays inside during baking.
Shape into a loaf.
4. Bake
Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Dijon Cream Sauce (Optional)
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
Gradually whisk in milk until smooth.
Stir in Dijon mustard and Parmesan cheese.
Simmer 2–3 minutes until thickened.
Season with salt and pepper.
