Cheesy Sausage Puff Pastry Rolls

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • ½ lb sausage (pork, chicken, or turkey)
  • ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional, for flavor)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp paprika (optional)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional, for topping)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Air Fryer or Oven
    • Air Fryer: 375°F (190°C)
    • Oven: 400°F (200°C)
  2. Prepare the Filling
    • In a bowl, mix sausage, shredded cheese, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  3. Assemble the Rolls
    • Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
    • Cut into 3 long strips.
    • Place sausage mixture along the center of each strip.
    • Brush one edge with beaten egg and roll tightly to seal.
    • Cut into bite-sized pieces or keep them as long rolls.
  4. Egg Wash & Topping
    • Brush rolls with beaten egg.
    • Sprinkle sesame or poppy seeds if desired.
  5. Cook in Air Fryer
    • Place rolls seam-side down in the air fryer basket.
    • Air fry for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
    Oven Method:
    • Bake on a parchment-lined tray for 18-20 minutes until puffed and golden.
  6. Serve & Enjoy!
    • Let cool slightly and serve with dipping sauces like honey mustard, ketchup, or spicy mayo.
