Carrot Hot Dogs
Ingredients
4 Large Carrots
1/2 Cup Tamari or Soy Sauce
1/2 Cup Apple Cidar Vinegar
1/2 Cup Water
2 Tablespoons Maple Syrup
2 Teaspoons Paprika
2 Teaspoons Garlic Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Black Pepper
3 Dashes of Liquid Smoke
Peel carrots and form into hot dogs. Place in a pot of boiling water for roughly 20 minutes or tender with fork. Do not over cook.
In meantime, mix all ingredients in a ziplock bag or food container with lid. Once the carrots are tender, place the carrot hot dogs in the ingredients and place in the refrigerator for 24 hours.
Remove the dogs, either grill them on the grill or in a pan on the stove. Prepare them as any other hot dogs with your favorite condiments.
Any leftover shavings from the carrots, freeze and use them later for other recipes.
