Cake in 5 Minutes

Ingredients:

  • 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 4 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/8 tsp baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: 1 tbsp chocolate chips or nuts

Instructions:

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a microwave-safe mug, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Mix well to ensure all the ingredients are evenly distributed.
  2. Add Wet Ingredients: Add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the mug. Stir until the mixture is smooth and free of lumps. If desired, fold in chocolate chips or nuts.
  3. Microwave: Place the mug in the microwave and cook on high for 1 minute and 30 seconds to 2 minutes, depending on your microwave’s wattage. Start checking at the 1-minute mark to avoid overcooking.
  4. Check for Doneness: The cake should rise and be set but still slightly moist in the center. If it needs more time, continue microwaving in 10-second intervals until done.
  5. Cool and Enjoy: Allow the cake to cool for a minute or two before enjoying it directly from the mug. Optionally, top with a scoop of ice cream, whipped cream, or a drizzle of chocolate syrup.
