Ingredients
Beef
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- ยฝ tsp salt
- ยฝ tsp black pepper
- ยฝ tsp garlic powder
- ยฝ tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Burger salad
- 4 cups chopped romaine or iceberg lettuce
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 large tomato, diced
- ยพ cup dill pickles, diced
- ยฝ small onion, finely diced
- ยฝ cup cooked beef per jar, approximately
Creamy Big Mac dressing
- ยฝ cup mayonnaise
- ยผ cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp yellow mustard
- 2 tbsp finely diced dill pickles
- 1 tbsp pickle juice
- ยฝ tsp garlic powder
- ยฝ tsp onion powder
- ยฝ tsp paprika
- 1 tsp sugar
- Black pepper, to taste

- Make the sauce:
Mix all dressing ingredients together. Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes so the flavors blend. - Cook the beef:
Brown the ground beef over medium-high heat, breaking it into small crumbles. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and Worcestershire sauce. Cook until nicely browned.
Cool completely before assembling the jars. - Prepare the vegetables:
Chop the lettuce, tomato, pickles and onion. Pat the tomatoes and pickles relatively dry so the salad doesn’t become watery. - Layer each jar from bottom to top:
- 3 tbsp Big Mac dressing
- 2โ3 tbsp diced pickles
- diced onion
- diced tomato
- cooked ground beef
- shredded cheddar
- chopped lettuce
- Seal and refrigerate.
They should keep well for about 3 days when properly chilled. - To serve:
Shake the sealed jar vigorously, then dump it into a large bowl and toss.

For the closest fast-food cheeseburger flavor, don’t make the beef bland. Get it deeply browned and use plenty of finely diced pickles in the sauce.
