Air fryer Smoked Chicken Wings

Air fryer Smoked Chicken Wings

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds of chicken wings
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (adjust to your desired level of spiciness)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • Cooking spray (for the air fryer basket)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken Wings:
    • Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
    • If not already separated, cut the wings into drumettes and flats. Discard the wingtips or save them for making chicken stock.
  2. Season the Wings:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt. Mix well to create a smoky seasoning rub.
    • Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss them until they’re evenly coated with the seasoning.
  3. Preheat the Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). This may take about 3-5 minutes, depending on your model.
  4. Air Fry the Wings:
    • Lightly grease the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
    • Place the seasoned chicken wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they aren’t touching. If necessary, cook the wings in batches.
    • Cook the wings at 375°F for 25-30 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time. Adjust the time as needed to ensure they’re cooked through and crispy. They should reach an internal temperature of at least 165°F (74°C).
  5. Serve:
    • Once the wings are done, remove them from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
  6. Optional: Serve with Dipping Sauces:
    • You can serve the smoked chicken wings with your favorite dipping sauces, such as barbecue sauce, ranch dressing, or blue cheese dressing..
