air fryer Jalapeno Popper Grilled Cheese


For the Jalapeno Popper Filling:

  • 2-3 fresh jalapeno peppers, diced (adjust to your spice preference)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Grilled Cheese:

  • 4 slices of your favorite bread
  • Butter or cooking spray for the bread
  • 8 slices of your preferred cheese (like cheddar or pepper jack)
  • Optional: Cooked bacon or crispy prosciutto for added flavor


  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the diced jalapenos, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, diced red onion, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create the jalapeno popper filling.
  2. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Butter or lightly coat one side of each slice of bread with cooking spray.
  4. Place a slice of bread, buttered side down, in the air fryer basket. Spread a generous amount of the jalapeno popper filling on top of the bread.
  5. Add slices of cheese and any optional ingredients like bacon or prosciutto.
  6. Top with another slice of bread, buttered side up.
  7. Place the sandwich in the air fryer basket.
  8. Air fry for about 3-4 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, keeping a close eye to avoid burning. You may need to flip the sandwich halfway through for even cooking.
  9. Carefully remove the sandwich from the air fryer and let it cool for a minute.
