Ingredients:
For the Jalapeno Popper Filling:
- 2-3 fresh jalapeno peppers, diced (adjust to your spice preference)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup diced red onion
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Grilled Cheese:
- 4 slices of your favorite bread
- Butter or cooking spray for the bread
- 8 slices of your preferred cheese (like cheddar or pepper jack)
- Optional: Cooked bacon or crispy prosciutto for added flavor
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the diced jalapenos, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, diced red onion, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create the jalapeno popper filling.
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Butter or lightly coat one side of each slice of bread with cooking spray.
- Place a slice of bread, buttered side down, in the air fryer basket. Spread a generous amount of the jalapeno popper filling on top of the bread.
- Add slices of cheese and any optional ingredients like bacon or prosciutto.
- Top with another slice of bread, buttered side up.
- Place the sandwich in the air fryer basket.
- Air fry for about 3-4 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, keeping a close eye to avoid burning. You may need to flip the sandwich halfway through for even cooking.
- Carefully remove the sandwich from the air fryer and let it cool for a minute.
