Ingredients
For the Strawberry Sauce
- 1Β½ cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

For the Sundae
- 4 scoops vanilla ice cream
- 2 scoops strawberry ice cream
- Β½ cup fresh strawberries, sliced
- ΒΌ cup whipped cream
- 2 tablespoons chopped nuts (optional)
- 2 tablespoons chocolate or strawberry syrup
- Maraschino cherries, for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Make the strawberry sauce: Add sliced strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice to a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat for 4β5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries soften and release their juices.
- Add vanilla: Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Let the sauce cool for a few minutes.
- Assemble: Divide the vanilla and strawberry ice cream between two serving glasses or bowls.
- Add strawberries: Spoon fresh sliced strawberries and a generous amount of strawberry sauce over the ice cream.
- Top: Add whipped cream, chopped nuts, and a drizzle of chocolate or strawberry syrup.
- Finish: Add a cherry on top if desired and serve immediately.
