Ginger, Lemon, and Honey Drink

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (500 ml) water
  • 1–2 inches (2.5–5 cm) fresh ginger root, sliced or grated
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1–2 teaspoons honey (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring the water to a boil.
  2. Add the ginger and simmer for 10–15 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  4. Strain the liquid.
  5. Stir in the lemon juice.
  6. Add honey if desired.
  7. Serve warm.

What it may do

  • Ginger has some anti-inflammatory properties and may help with mild pain or stiffness in some people.
  • Lemon adds flavor and vitamin C.
  • Honey can soothe the throat and improve taste.
