Cheesy Keto Sausage Balls
Ingredients:
- 1 pound breakfast sausage (bulk, not in casings)
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (adjust to taste)
- Optional: 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes for a bit of heat
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the breakfast sausage, almond flour, shredded cheddar cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined. The mixture will be somewhat sticky.
- Form Balls: Using your hands or a small cookie scoop, form the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Leave a bit of space between each ball.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the sausage balls are golden brown and cooked through. An internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) ensures they are done.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the sausage balls to cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring them to a plate. Serve warm.
