WW PIZZA TOAST

WW PIZZA TOAST

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of whole-grain bread (use a low-point bread if you’re following WW)
  • 1/4 cup of tomato sauce or pizza sauce (choose a lower-sugar, lower-calorie option)
  • 1/2 cup of part-skim shredded mozzarella cheese (or reduced-fat cheese)
  • Your favorite pizza toppings (e.g., sliced bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, olives, turkey pepperoni, etc.)
  • A pinch of dried oregano, basil, or other pizza seasonings
  • Cooking spray

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven’s broiler on low or to a broil setting.
  2. Place the two slices of whole-grain bread on a baking sheet.
  3. Lightly toast the bread in the oven for 1-2 minutes on each side or until it’s lightly golden.
  4. Remove the toasted bread from the oven and set your oven to bake at 350°F (175°C).
  5. Spread 2 tablespoons of tomato or pizza sauce on each slice of toast.
  6. Add half of the shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce.
  7. Customize your pizza toast by adding your favorite pizza toppings. Be mindful of portion sizes and WW points when selecting toppings.
  8. Sprinkle a pinch of dried oregano, basil, or other pizza seasonings over the top.
  9. Return the topped toast to the oven and bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, and the toppings are cooked to your liking.
  10. Carefully remove the pizza toast from the oven and let it cool for a minute before slicing and serving.
