WW PIZZA TOAST

WW PIZZA TOAST
Ingredients:
- 2 slices of whole-grain bread (use a low-point bread if you’re following WW)
- 1/4 cup of tomato sauce or pizza sauce (choose a lower-sugar, lower-calorie option)
- 1/2 cup of part-skim shredded mozzarella cheese (or reduced-fat cheese)
- Your favorite pizza toppings (e.g., sliced bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, olives, turkey pepperoni, etc.)
- A pinch of dried oregano, basil, or other pizza seasonings
- Cooking spray
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven’s broiler on low or to a broil setting.
- Place the two slices of whole-grain bread on a baking sheet.
- Lightly toast the bread in the oven for 1-2 minutes on each side or until it’s lightly golden.
- Remove the toasted bread from the oven and set your oven to bake at 350°F (175°C).
- Spread 2 tablespoons of tomato or pizza sauce on each slice of toast.
- Add half of the shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce.
- Customize your pizza toast by adding your favorite pizza toppings. Be mindful of portion sizes and WW points when selecting toppings.
- Sprinkle a pinch of dried oregano, basil, or other pizza seasonings over the top.
- Return the topped toast to the oven and bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, and the toppings are cooked to your liking.
- Carefully remove the pizza toast from the oven and let it cool for a minute before slicing and serving.
