TEXAS TOAST WITH CHEESE

Ingredients:

  • 8 slices of thick-cut bread (preferably Texas toast)
  • 4 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley (optional)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (or a cheese blend of your choice)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the butter mixture: In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with garlic powder and dried parsley (if using).
  3. Butter the bread: Spread a generous amount of the butter mixture on one side of each slice of bread.
  4. Add cheese: Place the buttered bread slices on a baking sheet, buttered side up. Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese (or your preferred cheese blend) over each slice. If using, sprinkle a little Parmesan cheese on top for extra flavor.
  5. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the bread are golden brown.
  6. Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your cheesy Texas toast as a side dish or a tasty snack!
