TEXAS TOAST WITH CHEESE
Ingredients:
- 8 slices of thick-cut bread (preferably Texas toast)
- 4 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley (optional)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (or a cheese blend of your choice)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the butter mixture: In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with garlic powder and dried parsley (if using).
- Butter the bread: Spread a generous amount of the butter mixture on one side of each slice of bread.
- Add cheese: Place the buttered bread slices on a baking sheet, buttered side up. Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese (or your preferred cheese blend) over each slice. If using, sprinkle a little Parmesan cheese on top for extra flavor.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the bread are golden brown.
