Philly Cheesesteak French Bread Pizza
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 8 ounce boneless rib eye steak
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 green pepper chopped
- 1 small onion cut into slices
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 loaf French bread
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 16 slices provolone cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees
- Place the rib eye on a cutting board and cut into thin strips. (You can pop it into the freezer for 1 hour to help with the slices)
- Heat a large skillet on medium high heat and add 2 tablespoons olive oil. Add the steak, salt and pepper and cook for 3-4 minutes flipping halfway through. Add in the Worcestershire sauce and give it a toss. Remove steak to a plate (it’s okay if it still has pink it will cook a little more in the oven.)
- Reduce the heat to medium low and add the remaining olive oil and add in the green peppers and onions cook 2-3 minutes just until soft. Add in the garlic and cook another minute.
- Place the French bread on a cutting board and slice the loaf in half lengthwise.
- Spread the mayonnaise evenly over the halves. Place 4 slices of cheese on each half. Optional: You can place the french bread slices on a piece of aluminium foil with it scrunches around the pizza to help it stay flat.
- Place the green peppers and onions evenly over the cheese, followed by the steak (don’t forget the delicious juice).
- Finally add the rest of the cheese slices on top and bake.
- Remove from the oven and cut into slices and serve!
