Pasta Shells With Ground Beef Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Shells:

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

For the Filling:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce (sugar-free/keto-friendly)
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese (for topping)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Shells:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix mozzarella, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder in a bowl.
  3. Spread small circles of the cheese mixture onto the baking sheet (about 3 inches wide).
  4. Bake for 5-7 minutes until bubbly and golden. Let them cool slightly before shaping into “shells” by folding over a spatula or rolling pin.

2. Cook the Ground Beef Filling:

  1. In a skillet, sauté the diced onion over medium heat until soft.
  2. Add ground beef, breaking it apart, and cook until browned. Drain excess grease.
  3. Mix in marinara sauce, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.

3. Assemble and Bake:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Fill each cheese shell with a spoonful of the ground beef mixture and place in a greased baking dish.
  3. Top with shredded cheese and bake for 10-12 minutes until melted and bubbly.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Garnish with fresh parsley or basil.
  • Serve with a side of garlic butter zucchini noodles or a fresh green salad
