Pasta Shells With Ground Beef Recipe

Ingredients:
For the Shells:
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
For the Filling:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce (sugar-free/keto-friendly)
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese (for topping)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Shells:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix mozzarella, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder in a bowl.
- Spread small circles of the cheese mixture onto the baking sheet (about 3 inches wide).
- Bake for 5-7 minutes until bubbly and golden. Let them cool slightly before shaping into “shells” by folding over a spatula or rolling pin.
2. Cook the Ground Beef Filling:
- In a skillet, sauté the diced onion over medium heat until soft.
- Add ground beef, breaking it apart, and cook until browned. Drain excess grease.
- Mix in marinara sauce, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
3. Assemble and Bake:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Fill each cheese shell with a spoonful of the ground beef mixture and place in a greased baking dish.
- Top with shredded cheese and bake for 10-12 minutes until melted and bubbly.
Serving Suggestions:
- Garnish with fresh parsley or basil.
- Serve with a side of garlic butter zucchini noodles or a fresh green salad
