Layer the Salad In a large glass or trifle bowl, layer the ingredients in the following order:
Lettuce
Cucumber
Cherry tomatoes
Green bell pepper
Red onion
Hard-boiled eggs
Cheddar cheese
Prepare the Dressing In a small mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, apple cider vinegar or lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
Assemble the Salad Spread the dressing evenly over the top of the layered salad. Smooth it out with a spatula to cover all the layers.
Add the Final Toppings Sprinkle the crumbled bacon on top of the dressing layer.
Chill Cover the salad and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to let the flavors meld together.
