Keto Sausage & Cabbage Bake

Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450g) sausage (use keto-friendly sausage, like pork or chicken sausage, sliced or crumbled)
- 1 small head of cabbage, chopped
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream or cream cheese (for extra creaminess)
- 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
- 1 tsp dried thyme or Italian seasoning
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, sauté until translucent.
- Add the sausage to the skillet and cook until browned and cooked through. If crumbled sausage, break it up as it cooks.
- Add chopped cabbage to the skillet, season with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and thyme. Cook for about 5–7 minutes until cabbage softens a bit.
- If using, stir in heavy cream or cream cheese now, mixing well to combine and create a creamy texture.
- Transfer the sausage and cabbage mixture into a baking dish.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top (optional).
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes until the cheese melts and turns golden brown.
- Remove from oven, let cool slightly, then serve hot!
