Keto Crispy Onion Fritters

  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 large eggs
  • Avocado oil or coconut oil for frying

  1. Prepare the Onions: Slice the onion thinly into rings or half-moons, depending on your preference. Separate the onion slices into individual rings and set them aside.
  2. Prepare the Coating: In a shallow bowl, combine the almond flour, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine all the dry ingredients.
  3. Coat the Onions: In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. Dip each onion ring into the beaten eggs, ensuring it’s well coated, and then dredge it through the almond flour mixture, pressing the coating onto the onion to adhere.
  4. Fry the Fritters: Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat and add enough avocado oil or coconut oil to cover the bottom of the pan. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the coated onion rings into the hot oil. Fry the fritters in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry each batch for 2-3 minutes per side or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove the fritters and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
  5. Serve: Serve your keto crispy onion fritters hot, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese or a keto-friendly dipping sauce like mayonnaise, sour cream, or a low-carb ranch dressing.
  6. Enjoy: Enjoy your delicious and crunchy keto crispy onion fritters as a snack or side dish.
