Keto Big Mac Salad
Ingredients
For the Salad:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tbsp olive oil (optional if beef is lean)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
- 4 cups romaine or iceberg lettuce, chopped
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup dill pickles, chopped
- 1/4 cup red onion, diced
- 1 medium tomato, diced (optional for keto, as it contains some carbs)
For the Big Mac Sauce Dressing:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp sugar-free ketchup
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 tbsp dill pickle relish (sugar-free)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp white vinegar (optional, for a tangier sauce)
Instructions
- Cook the Beef
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil if needed, then brown the ground beef. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Stir until the beef is fully cooked and fragrant. Drain any excess fat and set aside to cool slightly.
- Prepare the Dressing
- In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sugar-free ketchup, mustard, dill pickle relish, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and vinegar until smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Assemble the Salad
- In a large bowl or individual plates, add the chopped lettuce as a base. Top with the cooked ground beef, shredded cheddar, diced pickles, red onion, and tomato (if using).
- Drizzle and Serve
- Drizzle the Big Mac sauce dressing over the salad or serve it on the side. Toss the salad lightly to coat ingredients evenly. Enjoy immediately!
Tips
- Add bacon bits or avocado slices for extra flavor and fat.
- For a bit of crunch, add a sprinkle of pork rinds on top as a keto-friendly “crouton” alternative.
