Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream

Ingredients 

Cookie Dough Bites

  • ▢½ cup butter softened
  • ▢½ cup light brown sugar packed
  • ▢¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ▢1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
  • ▢¼ cup whole milk
  • ▢½ teaspoon salt
  • ▢1½ cups all purpose flour
  • ▢¾ cup miniature chocolate chips

Ice Cream

  • ▢¾ cup light brown sugar packed
  • ▢1⅔ cups whole milk
  • ▢1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
  • ▢3 cups heavy cream

Instructions

Cookie Dough Bites

  • Beat the butter and sugars together.½ cup butter,½ cup light brown sugar,¼ cup granulated sugar
  • Mix together the vanilla and milk.1 Tablespoon vanilla extract,¼ cup whole milk
  • Stir together the flour and salt.½ teaspoon salt,1½ cups all purpose flour
  • Alternately add the flour and milk mixtures to the butter. Stir in the chocolate chips.¾ cup miniature chocolate chips
  • Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or waxed paper. Press the cookie dough onto cookie sheet to a depth of about 1/4 inch. Place in freezer while making the ice cream base.

Ice Cream

  • Mix brown sugar and vanilla into the milk until the brown sugar is dissolved.¾ cup light brown sugar,1 Tablespoon vanilla extract,1⅔ cups whole milk
  • Gently stir in the cream.3 cups heavy cream
  • Pour into your ice cream maker and make according to your maker’s directions. 
  • Remove cookie dough from freezer and cut or break off bits of cookie dough the size you would like them in your ice cream.
  • Stir cookie dough bits into the ice cream as soon as it is done churning.
  • Store in the freezer until frozen.
