Homemade chicken tenders in the air fryer

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb chicken tenders
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Cooking spray

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Coating Stations:
    • In one bowl, add flour.
    • In a second bowl, beat the eggs.
    • In a third bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan (if using), garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Coat the Chicken:
    • Dredge each chicken tender in the flour, shaking off excess.
    • Dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing the excess to drip off.
    • Coat it with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
  3. Preheat the Air Fryer:
    • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Arrange and Cook:
    • Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
    • Place the chicken tenders in a single layer in the basket. Avoid overcrowding.
    • Lightly spray the tenders with cooking spray to ensure crispiness.
  5. Air Fry:
    • Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through. Ensure the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
  6. Serve:
    • Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces like ranch, honey mustard, or BBQ sauce.
