High Protein Healthy Angel Food Cake
Ingredients
- 7 Large Egg Whites (from actual eggs, not a carton and at room temperature)
- 17g Protein Powder (I used Vanilla from Women’s Best)
- 2 Tbs Stevia in the Raw
- 1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1 tsp cream of tartar
Instructions
PREP: Separate seven egg whites from real eggs (do not use carton egg whites!) I typically do this the night before, store them in a container in the fridge and then let the egg whites sit out on the counter for about an hour to come to room temperature. You can also just set out whole eggs prior to making, but make sure they are room temperature.Combine egg whites, cream of tartar, stevia and vanilla extract into a bowl of a kitchen aid mixer.Beat using the whisk attachment at the highest speed for a few minutes until the egg whites become stiff and have high peaksAdd protein powder and mix by hand just until combinedSpray a round cake pan and then bake at 350 degrees for about 20-25 minutes.Let cool for a few minutes then top with any toppings you want!
