- 3 cups mini pretzels
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 scoop (about 30g) vanilla or unflavored protein powder
- ½ cup natural peanut butter (adds protein and richness)
- 1 cup light caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade, see below)
- 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional, for extra sweetness)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of sea salt
Homemade Light Caramel Sauce (optional)
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp milk (any kind)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
How to make:
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Stir in brown sugar and milk; bring to a gentle boil and cook 2–3 minutes until thickened.
- Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract.
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine pretzels and chopped pecans.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, heat peanut butter and caramel sauce together for about 30 seconds until warm and easily mixable.
- Stir in protein powder, honey (if using), vanilla extract, and a pinch of sea salt until smooth and fully combined. The mixture will be thick but pourable.
- Pour the caramel-protein mixture over the pretzels and pecans. Gently toss with a spatula or spoon until everything is well coated.
- Spread the coated mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet in an even layer.
- Let it cool at room temperature or in the fridge until firm (about 30–45 minutes).
- Once set, break into clusters and serve.
