Goulash Recipe
Total Time: 45 minutes
Servings: 6
Ingredients:
907g lean ground beef
227g uncooked elbow macaroni (about 2 cups)
1 tablespoon olive oil
5 cloves garlic, minced
1⁄2 teaspoon paprika
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
355ml beef broth (about 1 1⁄2 cups)
1 medium onion, diced (about 1 cup)
1 1⁄2 teaspoons chili powder
946ml tomato sauce (about 1 can)
946ml diced tomatoes, undrained (about 1 can)
1 1⁄2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
170g shredded cheddar cheese (about 1 1⁄2 cups)
Instructions:
Heat a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, onion, and olive oil. Cook for 7-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is browned and onions are tender. Drain excess grease.
Add the garlic, paprika, and Italian seasoning. Toast for 60-90 seconds to build flavor.
Pour in the beef broth, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes with juices, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and onion powder. Stir to combine.
Bring the mixture to a boil. For more flavor development, you can simmer gently for 10-15 minutes before adding pasta.
Add the elbow macaroni and stir to combine. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
Stir in the shredded cheese until melted and fully incorporated.
Serve hot. Enjoy!
