Cucumber Sandwiches
Ingredients:
- 1 medium cucumber, thinly sliced
- 8 slices of bread (white, whole wheat, or your preference)
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Prepare the Cucumbers:
- Wash the cucumber thoroughly. You can peel it if you prefer or leave the skin on for added color and texture.
- Slice the cucumber thinly using a knife or a mandoline.
- Make the Cream Cheese Spread:
- In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with chopped fresh dill. Add salt and pepper to taste. Stir until well combined.
- Assemble the Sandwiches:
- Lay out the slices of bread on a clean surface.
- Spread a layer of the dill cream cheese on each slice of bread.
- Arrange the thinly sliced cucumber on half of the bread slices.
- Top with the remaining slices of bread to form sandwiches.
- Optional: Cut and Trim:
- Trim the crusts from the sandwiches if desired.
- Cut the sandwiches into halves or quarters, creating bite-sized portions.
- Serve:
- Arrange the cucumber sandwiches on a serving platter.
- Optionally, garnish with additional dill or a sprinkle of black pepper.
- Enjoy:
- Serve the cucumber sandwiches immediately for the freshest taste.
