Crockpot Honey Garlic Chicken

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional garnish: chopped green onions, sesame seeds

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken:
    • Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  2. Make the Sauce:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, ketchup, minced garlic, olive oil, dried oregano, and dried thyme. Mix well until the ingredients are fully combined.
  3. Marinate the Chicken:
    • Place the chicken breasts in a crockpot or slow cooker.
    • Pour the honey garlic sauce over the chicken, making sure to coat each piece evenly.
  4. Cook in the Crockpot:
    • Cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender. Cooking times may vary depending on your crockpot.
  5. Air Fryer Finish:
    • Once the chicken is cooked in the crockpot, preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
    • Transfer the cooked chicken breasts from the crockpot to the air fryer basket.
    • Air fry for about 5-7 minutes, until the chicken gets a crispy exterior. Make sure to flip halfway through for even cooking.
  6. Serve:
    • Once done, remove the chicken from the air fryer.
    • Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
    • Serve the honey garlic chicken hot with your favorite sides like rice, quinoa, or steamed vegetables.
