Optional garnish: chopped green onions, sesame seeds
Instructions:
Prepare the Chicken:
Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
Make the Sauce:
In a mixing bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, ketchup, minced garlic, olive oil, dried oregano, and dried thyme. Mix well until the ingredients are fully combined.
Marinate the Chicken:
Place the chicken breasts in a crockpot or slow cooker.
Pour the honey garlic sauce over the chicken, making sure to coat each piece evenly.
Cook in the Crockpot:
Cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender. Cooking times may vary depending on your crockpot.
Air Fryer Finish:
Once the chicken is cooked in the crockpot, preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
Transfer the cooked chicken breasts from the crockpot to the air fryer basket.
Air fry for about 5-7 minutes, until the chicken gets a crispy exterior. Make sure to flip halfway through for even cooking.
Serve:
Once done, remove the chicken from the air fryer.
Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
Serve the honey garlic chicken hot with your favorite sides like rice, quinoa, or steamed vegetables.
