Creamy Rice Pudding Recipe

Ingredients
- 1 cup of white rice (short or long grain)
- 4 cups of whole milk
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- Optional toppings: cinnamon powder, raisins, chopped nuts
Instructions
- Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. This helps remove excess starch and prevents the rice from becoming too sticky.
- In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the rinsed rice and milk over medium heat. Stir occasionally to prevent the rice from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
- Once the mixture comes to a gentle boil, reduce the heat to low and simmer uncovered. Stir frequently to ensure the rice cooks evenly and doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pan. This process will take about 25-30 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the mixture has thickened to a creamy consistency.
- Stir in the sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Continue to simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
