Cinnamon Sugar Muffins

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup milk
1 egg, beaten
1/3 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Cinnamon Topping
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 175°C.
Grease a muffin tin or line with paper liners.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
In another bowl, mix the milk, beaten egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened, do not overmix (the batter should be a bit lumpy).
Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about 2/3 full.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
In a small bowl, mix together sugar and cinnamon.
When the muffins are done, while still warm, remove them from the pan. Dip the top of each muffin first in the melted butter, then in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Serve the muffins warm or at room temperature.
