Chocolate cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/2 cup plain non-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk (or any milk of your choice)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, beat together the sugar, applesauce, Greek yogurt, almond milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it evenly.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
