Cheesy Potato Skillet Recipe


  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions (optional)
  • 1/4 cup cooked and crumbled bacon (optional)
  • Sour cream for serving (optional)


  1. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. Prepare Potatoes: In a large bowl, toss the thinly sliced potatoes with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well coated.
  3. Layer Potatoes: Arrange the seasoned potato slices in the air fryer basket in a single layer. You may need to cook them in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  4. Air Fry Potatoes: Cook the potatoes in the air fryer for about 10-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
  5. Add Cheese: Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the cooked potatoes. Add chopped green onions and cooked, crumbled bacon if desired.
  6. Continue Cooking: Return the basket to the air fryer and continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve: Carefully remove the cheesy potato skillet from the air fryer. Serve hot, garnished with additional chopped green onions and a dollop of sour cream if desired.
