Cheesy Baked Cabbage Steaks
Ingredients
1 medium green cabbage
3 tablespoons olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
Prepare the Cabbage: Remove any damaged outer leaves from the cabbage. Cut the cabbage into 1-inch thick slices to create “steaks.” Place the cabbage steaks on the prepared baking sheet.
Season the Cabbage: In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, minced garlic, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Brush this mixture generously over both sides of each cabbage steak.
Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender and slightly caramelized on the edges.
Add Cheese: Remove the cabbage steaks from the oven and sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over each steak. Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, and serve warm. Enjoy these cheesy, flavorful cabbage steaks as a side dish or light main course.
