Cajun Shrimp Sausage Skillet


  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 lb andouille sausage, sliced into rounds
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 red onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped


  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Peel and devein the shrimp if they are not already prepared. Slice the andouille sausage, bell peppers, and red onion.
  2. Cook the Sausage: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Cook the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add the sliced bell peppers and red onion. Cook until they start to soften, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  4. Cook the Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet along with the Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook until the shrimp are pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Combine Everything: Return the sausage to the skillet. Add the chicken broth and lemon juice. Stir everything together and cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.

  • Adjust the Spice Level: If you like it spicier, add more Cajun seasoning or a pinch of cayenne pepper.

  • Make It Creamy: For a creamier version, add a splash of heavy cream at the end.
