(Serves 1–2)
Ingredients
- 2–4 large eggs
- 2 slices bread (white, whole wheat, or sourdough)
- 1–2 tbsp butter (or olive oil)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional toppings: avocado, herbs, hot sauce, or cheese
Instructions
1. Soft-Boil Eggs in the Air Fryer
- Preheat the air fryer to 270°F (130°C).
- Place cold eggs directly in the air fryer basket.
- Cook for 9–11 minutes depending on desired softness:
- 9 min = very soft, runny yolk
- 10 min = medium-soft yolk
- 11 min = mostly set yolk but still creamy
- While eggs are cooking, prepare an ice bath (bowl of cold water with ice).
- Immediately transfer cooked eggs to the ice bath for 2–3 minutes to stop cooking.
- Peel eggs carefully.
2. Make Buttery Toast
- While eggs are cooking or in the ice bath, toast your bread slices.
- Air fryer: 370°F (185°C) for 3–5 minutes until golden brown.
- Or use a toaster.
- Spread butter on hot toast and season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
3. Serve
- Slice or halve the soft-boiled eggs over the buttery toast.
- Sprinkle a little extra salt, pepper, or herbs if desired.
- Optional: drizzle olive oil or add avocado slices for extra richness.
Tips for Air Fryer Eggs
- Use room temperature eggs if possible for more even cooking.
- Adjust cooking time slightly if eggs are large or if your air fryer runs hot.
- For extra creamy yolks, peel eggs immediately after the ice bath.
