Air Fryer Roasted Potatoes

Ingredients:

  • Potatoes: Use about 1.5 to 2 pounds (680-900g) of potatoes. You can use any type you prefer, such as Yukon Gold or Russet, and leave the skins on for extra texture and flavor.
  • Olive Oil: About 2 tablespoons, for coating the potatoes.
  • Seasonings: Customize with your favorite seasonings. Popular options include:
    • Salt and pepper
    • Garlic powder
    • Paprika
    • Rosemary (fresh or dried)
    • Thyme
    • Parmesan cheese (optional, for sprinkling after cooking)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and allow it to preheat while you prepare the potatoes.
  2. Prepare the Potatoes:
    • Wash the potatoes thoroughly and pat them dry with a paper towel.
    • Cut the potatoes into bite-sized cubes or wedges. Try to make the pieces as uniform as possible for even cooking.
  3. Seasoning:
    • In a large bowl, toss the potato cubes with olive oil until they are evenly coated.
    • Add your preferred seasonings and toss again to distribute them evenly over the potatoes.
  4. Air Frying:
    • Once the air fryer is preheated, place the seasoned potatoes in the basket in a single layer. You may need to cook them in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
    • Cook the potatoes at 400°F (200°C) for about 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking. Cooking time can vary based on the size of your potato pieces and the efficiency of your air fryer.
  5. Check for Doneness:
    • Pierce a potato with a fork to check if they are tender and crispy on the outside. If they’re not done to your liking, continue cooking for a few more minutes, checking regularly.
  6. Serve:
    • Once the potatoes are cooked to perfection, transfer them to a serving dish. Optionally, sprinkle with additional salt or parmesan cheese before serving for added flavor.
  7. Enjoy:
    • Serve your air fryer roasted potatoes hot as a side dish or a snack. They pair well with a variety of main dishes or can be enjoyed on their own.
